What “The Year of the Snake” Means to Me, Personally #FeelingFriday

Source: NBC News

The Lunar New Year started this past Wednesday, and if you don’t already know it is “The Year of the Snake.” I’m always fascinated by the cultural significance of the Lunar New Year and of the teachings of each theme, this year being no different. I enjoy thinking through how I can apply the concept to my own life and my own behaviors, in a uniquely positive way.

The “Year of the Snake” may just have some unique applications this time around.

In digging into its meaning, evidently its all about letting go of the past, shedding anger, resisting the temptations of frustrations that have brought you down, and getting rid of loves that have been lost.

Hmmm. As I think about the year ahead, this indeed is some very solid advice. Perhaps even more than just advice. A way of being. An outlook on life. A coping mechanism even, for the changes we are navigating and that I myself am navigating.

Letting go. Shedding negativity. Freeing onself. Resisting that which brings me down.

I like it … the year of the snake. I’m going to embrace it.

What’s your experience? JIM
