We tend to think of the ususal suspects when we talk about logos that quickly identify a brand without ever mentioning the brand name. The Nike swoosh, the Target target, and the Starbucks muse all instantly come to mind.
But it's summer time and that means car travel. I was headed down to Virginia over the weekend and couldn't help but notice all the car logos as I was buzzing down I-95. So many icons without any mention of a brand name. So for a little car travel fun this summer, play the car logo game and try to pick out the brand names merely from their logo icons. Not necessarily the most entertaining of all sports, I agree, but it'll keep you moving along with the traffic.
Here are a few I spotted:
Chevy |
Hyundai |
Jaguar |
Subaru |
Toyota |
And there are plenty more where that came from! I also saw a bunch of Saturn icons, a brand no longer pumping out inventory. I also spotted a Suzuki here and there, a brand rumored to go away in 2013.
Isn't it amazing how a simple icon can come to mean so much! I'm sure that when you saw these images you instantly had pictures in your heads of the cars, the dealerships, and the people that drive the cars! That's years of brand equity, instantly displayed via an icon. Incredible.
What's your experience? Jim.
