For the holiday season, Etsy is launching its #GiftLikeYouMeanIt campaign which depicts very timely real world situations about as real as it gets in scripted storytelling. And about as timely as you can get in the middle of a pandemic. That’s what I love about it. There are three news spots that caught my eye. First is “The New Guy:”

And then also “Shiori:”

And then “Nana:”

Now that’s a campaign: current, culturally-relevant, empathetic, diverse, emotional, practical, and well lots of executions where any one can see themselves. I love seeing how they are handling the holidays and family and gift-giving amidst the pandemic. And I love even more the diversity of situations and families.

So current, so culturally-relevant, so empathetic, etc, etc, etc. Really puts Etsy on the map for a gift destination. And for me personally that’s new, which tells me that the campaign just might be very effective.
