Gucci x The North Face

Suffice it to say that the pandemic has brought a huge decline in sales to the luxury goods business. If you want to read about it a bit more, click here. But as the article suggests, it’s also brought about a transformation in many of the business models in the space. Like online shopping. Like partnerships.

But the pandemic hasn’t slowed down the creativity in luxury goods, at least not to my eye and the recently announced partnership between Gucci and The North Face brands is a great example. Fashion collaborates with outdoors!

While it’s been teased and teased, the collection officially became avail in the US today via a few conveniently located pop-up stores and then will go live later in the month. The collaboration also hinted at a Pokemon Go activity to be announced soon as well. It’ll be interesting to see how that one plays out. Hmmm.

Not exactly a high-low pairing like we’ve seen before, but more of a luxury sense brought to a practical application. Gucci style with The North Face functionality.

Collaborations are meant for the two brands to be better together than apart. I buy this one.
