Cadbury Creme Egg Goobilee!

For those of us who have been around for a bit, it may be hard to believe that the Cadbury Creme Egg is 50 years old! I remember them as a kid and loving how novel they were at the time. I think they are still pretty novel.

Over the years, they’ve become quite iconic. For some, a sign of Spring and for most just plain fun to open and eat.

Cadbury seems to understand that last part … just plain fun to open and eat. The brand is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a multi-part “Goobilee!” including a new video to kick it all off!

As you can see, the video celebrates the “craft” of enjoying a Cadbury Creme Egg … all different ways of enjoying a Cadbury Creme Egg. Along the way, the spot also features a real-life LGBTQ+ couple and that part got a little bit of buzz. Some positive, some negative. All of the vignettes, including this couple, show the unique and somewhat sensual ways to enjoy. That’s all, at least to my eye. Let’s face, it is pretty sensual product and the video certainly captures that in many ways.

For all, it’s all fun. Unique Cadbury Creme Egg fun.

What a great way to differentiate “chocolate” … a product that could otherwise be somewhat generic.
