"Never Break" #MusicMonday

Yesterday was Father’s Day in the US and I got to spend it with my husband, daughter, and son-in-law in NYC. With grown kids, you never know how holidays will flow so doing brunch and then dinner in the same day with at least part of the family was a real treat. It brought me such joy.

The other joyful part of the day was seeing my Facebook and Instagram feeds full of tributes to dads. Made my heart sing. As you can imagine, I have a lot of gay dads in my network so that part was especially wonderful but just in general seeing the love for dads was incredible. Fathers and father figures play an important role in our families lives, stating the obvious.

It all reminded me of this song and video from John Legend released last year … a tribute to dads with the song “Never Break.” While we are all human, dads do their best to never break for their families. It’s a huge job.

Thank you John for the amazing tribute. And thank you to add the dads and those who do dad things for making such a meaningful impact to the world. I love you all!
