ESPN Post Seasoning

Here’s a fun one if not an unexpected one. A new spicy food seasoning from none other than ESPN. Yes, you heard that right … ESPN. Cleverly, it’s called “Post Seasoning” to honor the thrill of post season football. To use at tailgates, football parties, etc.

An unusual line extension from a television network. Yes. Line extensions can be tricky, especially when they cross categories/industries. From tv to food is a big jump. But if you think about the brand equity of ESPN which to my eye is all about the love of sports, then crossing over to the love of food isn’t as big as a stretch as it may first seem. And crossing over to the love of food that you eat while loving sports, well then there you go.
