Brands Supporting Ukraine

Refreshing to see …

With the crisis in the Ukraine capturing the world’s hearts and attention, we’ve seen several brands step up to support the people there. While it doesn’t nearly balance the horrific news, it does demonstrate the new purpose that many brands feel … the responsibility to help people in a time of need. Extreme need.

Here are a few of the brands who moved quickly:

Airbnb … offering refugees trying to flee the country a free place to stay. The brand has done this in other parts of the world quite successfully and now with so many trying to reach safety this is a great example of using your prime assets to aid people.

Verizon … offering free “minutes” so that folks with loved ones in the Ukraine can communicate and touch base. So simple yet I am sure so impactful in these moments.

Tela … offering free car charging to those trying to reach the Ukraine border. Can’t even imagine that feeling so it’s good to see a brand eliminate perhaps one barrier to safety.

I’m hoping that these examples are just the first of many to provide support not only in the early days of the crisis (which will hopefully end positively soon) but in the aftermath of recovery for the people of Ukraine who will certainly need continued support.

My heart hurts and swells.

What can your brand do to support? What’s your experience? JIM
