Snoop Dogg just proved that a good ole’ marketing teaser can still work. Last week Snoop Dogg, infamous for his “love of weed” announced that he was “giving up smoke.” Fans immediately reacted with questions and skepticism, giving lots of attention to his declarative statement on social media.
Turns out he was referring to Solo Stove, a smokeless fire pit … he’s the new spokesperson. It’s actually a collaboration with co-branded product and gear.
Talk about getting your product on the map! A brilliant move and a brilliant use of a celebrity and his “brand” to highlight a product benefit and ultimately get your own brand in the consideration set amidst a very competitive category.
