"We Love NYC" ... Revising an Iconic Campaign
The “I Love NY” campaign from the 1970’s has stood the test of time as one of the most iconic case studies in marketing ever. For marketing a state, no less. Yes, states can be brands too. And so can cities …
This week, New York City launched a revised version of the campaign called “We Love NYC” by replacing the “I” with “We” and adding a “C” to “NY” to reflect the city instead of the state.
“We Love New York City.” All to promote our post-pandemic recovery and signal that the city is back in action as a desireable place to live, work, and visit. As a New Yorker myself, there really is no other place like it. I am part of that “We” in the slogan!
So smart. Keeping an iconic campaign alive with fresh relevance and inspiration. Bravo!
