Tony Bennett Day #MusicMonday

We lost an icon this summer here in the U.S. … Tony Bennett passed away on 7/27 at the age of 96. Tony had a LONG entertainment career, with classic songs through the decades. He is perhaps best known for this signature song:

And here he is singing the song again several years later on MTV Unplugged, which was HOT HOT HOT at the time:

Tony was so beloved that the U.S. Senate proclaimed his birthday, August 3rd, to be “Tony Bennett Day.” Wow! Now that’s a legend, and a legendary entertainment brand. His own brand. There will never be another Tony Bennett, that is for sure. A unique legendary brand.

His recent collaborations with Lady Gaga garnered him an entirely new and younger audience, while also expanding her own song catalog, range, and diversity.

They actually recorded two albums together, both of which won Grammy Awards. Here’s a great collaboration where one unique brand supports another unique brand, making more history together.
