Mercer Labs in New York City
I love a good reinvention … it’s at the heart of good marketing … reinventing to keep up with the hearts and minds of consumers. And that’s exactly what artist Roy Nachum and his team have done with Mercer Labs in New York … they have reinvented the art museum and the art museum experience. Right downtown.
Mercer Labs is a museum where art and technology collide across over a dozen “human” multisensory experiences. People who have gone say there’s nothing like it. Some of the exhibits appear to be permanent, and some appear to be rotating much like a traditional museum. Spaces are available for special events as well. It’s art, but art on a different “stage.”
Dare I say … Mercer Labs is a brand experience that you can turn into your own. It’s a museum experience that borrows from the traditional but transcends into a technology-based arena of sensory escapism. It’s a grand experiment of what can be possible that I’m betting will become new brand experiences in different form and formats.
I’m going to keep a watchful eye on this “brand!”
Have you experienced this? Can this reinvention give you inspiration to reinvent your own brand?
What’s your experience? JIM
