James Blunt - "Monsters"

Singer/songwriter James Blunt is likely best known for his song “You’re Beautiful,” a hauntingly raw long about unattainable love from 2004. It’s one of my personal favs.

But “hauntingly real” doesn’t even begin to cover this new song that James Blunt wrote and performed on video for his father who is undoubtedly in the last stages of his life. It’s real, it’s poignant, it’s just plain unbelievable.

What an amazing tribute to his father. “It’s my turn to chase the monsters away.”

It’s ultimately a tribute to forgiveness, excellence, relationships, and support during life’s most vulnerable moments. It’s a tribute to being dad.
