Jif Settles the Gif Debate

The age-old debate rages on, and now Jif the peanut butter brand is weighing in. If “Gif” pronounced with a hard g as in “graphic” or a soft g as in “Jif.”

The founder of the Gif itself said back in the day that it should be like jif. I’ve also gone along with the founder.

But many beg to differ, including the peanut butter brand itself.

The brand actually partnered with Giphy to release limited edition peanut butter packages with Gif as the brand name as opposed to Jif. To show people the difference between the hard g and the soft g.

Will this settle the debate once and for all? What’s your experience? JIM

PS - If you’re not familiar with Giphy, it’s essentially the online database and search engine for gifs. Wonder howe that’s pronounced, LOL!
