Museum of Public Relations Pride 2020
Last year for the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall and of Pride, I participated in the first ever Pride Event at the Museum of Public Relations. Ground breaking. In essence, we spoke about our career and life experiences as people and as communications professionals. There was an immediate sense of shared struggles and triumphs that was so inspiring.
So of course when museum founder Shelley Spector asked me to participate again this year I jumped at the chance. We will talk about what it’s like to be LGBTQ+ in our industry and in our world today with a focus on the intersectionality with Black Lives Matter and racial equality. I’ll be hosting two panel discussions that focus on societal issues and workplace issues respectively.
I know that we’ll have a lively discussion and I hope to answer two fundamental questions:
Has it gotten better?
How do we sure that it does get better and that we all take action?
We have to continue the fight and help those who are struggling the most. Together we can take action and we can make to better, ultimately getting to the point where equality is just a given.
The event took place on Tuesday June 30th at 6:00pmET. You can watch it now by clicking here. It’s FREE!
