Start of NFL Season

The new NFL season started last Thursday … the long anticipated return to sports. We’ve seen a bunch of brands get in on the action for what is a truly remarkable year in the history of sports. Never have we ever!

I’d like to highlight three that I found the most interesting so far. These three brands are attempting to create the fan experience but in a much different way. Consumers will decide if it’s in a much needed way!

Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant brand Buffalo Wild Wings is actually selling season passes at its locations in/around Cleveland for the Cleveland Browns fans. $750 guarantees you a spot in the restaurant for each game. Why not? Can’t get a regular season pass so might as well substitute with something where you can still get the sports feel. Right?

Babe Wine x Ryan Porter. Here’s one for the record books … Babe Wine (“the official day drinking wine”) and Ryan Porter (candle maker) have teamed up to bring us football-theme scented candles. What?!?

Yes, you are seeing/reading this correctly … the scents are Hashtag Field Goals, Jockstrap, and $18 Nachos. Whoa. Who says that smaller brands can’t participate in the big league too!

Verizon. This one makes logical sense given Verizon’s offer and history with the NFL. The brand is partnering with the NFL to bring more dynamic football experiences to life using its 5G Network … if you have the bandwidth for it! Since you can’t be there live, you might as well experience something special via technology that blows you away!

What have you seen? What’s your experience? JIM
