"Born This Way" #MusicMonday

We have a home in Palm Springs, CA and this past weekend was Pride Weekend. Yes, I know, typically Pride celebrations are in June but given the fact that the temp can be 120 degrees F that time of year, the organizers smartly pull off Palm Springs Pride in November. Smart.

Needless to say, we had a wonderful weekend. So good to be back out, safely. We skipped the big crowds including the concerts with Flock of Seagulls, Jodi Watley, and Third Eye Blind … just not quite ready to go that far.

Must have heard “Born This Way” from Lady Gaga a million times. So I’m making it this week’s #MusicMonday selection in celebration of Pride.

A beautiful anthem for all of us just being who we are. That’s all. We all just need to be who we are and embrace each other for who we all are. Love the shoutout to “Lebanese.” That would have made my grandmother smile.

Also omni-present over the weekend was another gay anthem “I’m Coming Out” from Diana Ross. So I thought I’d throw that in here too!

When “I’m Coming Out” first came out, I was in high school and had no idea what it was all about. Not sure a lot of people did, but over the years I got it. And love it.

Pride! Not just on a weekend but everyday. What’s your experience? JIM
