Louis Vuitton Mobile Units
It’s “fashion week” this week on my blog … I’m highlighting brands from the fashion industry that I’m finding interesting. First Kith, then Diesel, and now Louis Vuitton.
You may find it surprising that luxury goods have made out ok in the pandemic, in some cases growing double digits year over year. That’s more than just ok, given the situation! The big winners seem to be Chanel, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton. Seems money that would have gone to travel and leisure turned to luxury goods to be enjoyed more locally. We have seen before that luxury goods can withstand an economic crisis so perhaps this is true of a health crisis as well.
Here’s an interesting activity from brand Louis Vuitton … mobile units (see above). Yes, you can actually have a Louis Vuitton “van” pull up to your house curated with goods for purchase. If you are a repeat customer, you can even decide what’s curated. Think of it as a Louis Vuitton Tupperware Party for your COVID-19 bubble. Ha!
Sounds outlandish but it’s for real. For real luxury.
