Goodnight Sweet "Nightbirde"
It’s OK …
As they say, “Cancer sucks.” It sucks the life and hopes and dreams out of all that it reaches and all those who love those that it reaches.
This week we lost a little hero in the fight against cancer. A hero who despite the 2% odds of survival still maintained hope and vitality and inspiration.
Jane aka “Nightbirde.”
Nightbirde was a contestant on “Americas Got Talent” who sang a song that she wrote about “the last year of my life” called “It’s OK.”
Speechless, like the judges and the crowd.
“It’s important everyone knows that I am so much more than the bad things that have happened to me.”
Even at 2%, she said that it’s more than 0%. Just wow.
Simon Cowell gave her the “Golden Buzzer” which advanced Nightbirde to the finals but she then got too sick to make it. This week she passed away.
It’s not OK. But it is OK that Nightbirde had such an amazing outlook on life. It’s actually amazing.
Inspiring.
I work in healthcare and one of the main reasons why most of us are here is because of this hope. The hope that we are giving people hope to deal with the bad things that are happening to them.
It’s OK. Oh and yes, we are all lost sometimes. Whether that’s from a healthcare issue or a million other factors. It’s OK. Thank you, Nightbirde.
