The First Transgender Barbie

Today is June 1st, the start of Pride Month. So I thought it fitting to write about Barbie’s first transgender doll that the brand just recently released. It’s inspired by none other than actress Laverne Cox. The new doll celebrates Laverne’s 50th birthday and is part of the brand’s Tribute Collection that honors trailblazing women.

Laverne is just that! As is Barbie! Representation is a beautiful thing … makes each of us feel like we belong. Each of us!
