Cher Christmas #MusicMonday
This past Friday Cher released her first Christmas album after much anticipation and hype.
She had been on record that she would never do a Christmas album, but here we are. Here we are indeed … Cher Christmas both propelled her monthly listeners on Spotify to her all time high of over 11 million people and it also made Cher the oldest female ever to make the iTunes top list.
I guess Christmas can work for you. The initial success has likely been fueled by the sneak release of the first single a few weeks ago (so very Cher):
Doesn’t this remind you of Mariah Carey’s class “All I Want For Christmas Is You” as THE Christmas Song Cher is likely referring to?!? Not sure she intended that, but that’s where I go. Great beat.
The album is a mix of new material, classics, and several duets. One of my favs is this duet with Cyndi Lauper (one of Cher’s best friends):
And here’s a new one too, very Cher and very fun …
Gotta give her incredible credit … she keeps going and going and going. Her brand lives on and on and on. And I love every minute of it. She recently said she’s about to start recording her next album. You Go Cher!!
What’s your experience? JIM
