"Lead the Team" Podcast with Ben Fanning
I’ll admit it … I love doing podcasts. For me, it’s like sitting down with a friend (coffee in hand) and talking about life. Work. Life. Balance. Society. Pressures. Challenges. Joys. Rewards.
I just recently had the absolute pleasure of joining Ben Fanning’s podcast which is all about leadership. All kinds of leadership. After listening to a few of his sessions and reviewing his material in advance, I felt prepared to have a chat with a new friend.
And a chat is exactly what we had! I’m not sure we stuck to any script at all, and it certainly felt like Ben was organically going where ever the conversation took us. Which is exactly how a podcast should flow, yet we still remained on point. On point with the point of his podcast. Leadership.
So sure we talked a lot about leadership styles, and finding potential in people, and overcoming barriers … but we also got deeply personal about what has held us back and what has slowed us down and feeling the need to conform. Lots of lessons learned in here.
Give a listen by clicking here. Ben titled it “Label Free Leadership” which is just sheer perfection, and something I very much aspire to be and become.
Ben’s final question, which I had not anticipated, left us talking about just being who you are. Showing up as yourself for your colleagues, your family, your friends, and yourself. And yourself. That’s the fulfilling part.
Thank you Ben for an inspiring session and a very compelling conversation on leadership, balance, and authenticity.
What’s your experience? JIM
