Coachtopia

Learned something new, that I honestly should have learned a long time ago … upcycling. According to Oxford Dictionary, upcycling is:

“reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way

as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original”

Interesting.

Looks like Coach (as in the luxury leather goods and fashion brand) knows exactly what upcycling is with their new initiative called Coachtopia, “a new world of circular craft.”

Check out the Coachtopia product line by clicking here. It’s pretty expansive! Coachtopia even has a spokesperson called “Wasty.”

“Made with leftover materials, full of bright ideas, Wasty is a Coachtopian creature on a mission to reimagine waste this holiday—by turning it into beautiful things.”

Wasty is all about the holidays, making sure that upcycling ‘tis the season!

Impressive. Inspiring. Timely. And honestly a bit of a surprise coming from Coach. Not sure why I say that but it feels like a bit of an advance forward for the brand, for the planet coming from the brand. Certainly improves my impression of the brand being perhaps more responsible than I would have thought and more creative too.
