Just in time for Basketball’s March Madness and in homage to its iconic “Where’s the Beef” commercial, Wendy’s is partnering with Basketball Hall of Fame super star Reggie Miller to bring us “Square’s the Beef.” Take a look …

Pretty cool … although I’ve already establish myself as a nostalgia lover with my Super Bowl advertising picks this year! For reference, here’s the original from 1984.

So iconic … and perhaps one of the reasons why I chose a career in marketing. I was so obsessed with the making of commercials like this one. How did they think of this idea? Who wrote it? How did they choose the characters?

Bringing back this classic is so smart and spot on, engaging the brand in a pop culture/sports and social media moment.
