RuPaul's Drag Race Monopoly
Last week was RuPaul’s Dragcon, a convention for all things drag. A very special game from a very iconic brand was introduced in partnership with World of Wonder (an entertainment production company) …. a new Monopoly game in partnership with RuPaul’s Drag Race television show.
Pretty simple concept if you know the original game. Except now all of the pieces and places are drag-related. Just what your drag mom ordered!
Staying relevant is the name of the game in marketing and branding. This board game has been around literally since 1902 and has launched many a version through the years. This latest edition hits the news cycle head on, and shows lots of cultural awareness and relevancy. And quite honestly, a little inspiration and motivation given the world we live in at the moment.
Well done, RuPaul. Love seeing how you too keep expanding your brand making it more and more pervasive and relevant!
