For the first time ever, the NFL has released a collection of merchandise for Pride 2023. The merchandise which includes hats, t-shirts, hoodies, etc. etc. has great little phrases on them. This is huge IMHO.

Note that the designer is a huge Raiders fan and the model is former player Donovan Swift, a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

And while this might be the first time the NFL has created merchandise, it’s not the first time it has supported Pride and given back to the community. Last year it talked about football being for everyone and gave support to The Trevor Project.

But creating wearable merchandise takes the support to an even more visible level to showcase that in fact “football is everyone.” This is so important. To have an organization like the NFL show this support and make these statements means increasing the self esteem and acceptance of so many. So many. And it breaks down some of the stereotypes that get in the way of self-acceptance. Thank you.
