"What Was I Made For?" by Billie Ellish for "Barbie" Movie #MusicMonday
Well if you haven’t noticed, the “Barbie” movie debuted this weekend with amazing box office success. I mean how could it not with the marketing machine behind it?!? It has to be the most marketed movie eva, right?!? Certainly feels like it.
Since today is #MusicMonday on my blog, I’m going to dedicate the day to the song from Billie Ellish for the movie. It’s called “What Was I Made For?” and it’s a haunting song of self-reflection and indicative of the intellectual depth of the movie (which might appear to be shallow on the surface). Oh no, this is a serious movie and a serious song from the soundtrack.
Right in the middle of pop culture in the moment, tackling the issues of pop culture in the moment. So well done.
What’s your experience? JIM
PS - Yes, the song is incredible but so is the video for it. In fact the video was produced by my friends Dawn and David from Capture - they are fabulously talented. Obvi.
