New "Wicked" Drinks at Starbucks
In case you haven’t heard, the Broadway Show “Wicked” is coming to movie theaters and it’s set for a big-time marketing release including lots of star power and lots of brand partnerships. The collaboration with Stanley for tumblers at Target have already essentially sold out, already causing a stir at resellers.
Crocs has a line of shoes to commemorate the “Wicked” sensation.
Then of course there is Starbucks, where there are two new drinks in honor of the two characters from the show/movie … so well done.
“Stay wicked, Starbucks lovers!” Indeed! As noted in the video, the drinks are launching along with a line of Starbucks/”Wicked” merchandise to enjoy. It’s a full suite of collaboration.
I just think it’s so fun to see this level of marketing activity to come along with such a highly anticipated theatrical release like “Wicked”. We’ve been waiting so long, so why not celebrate on every level! The merchandising, we know because we saw it with “The Barbie Movie”, certainly helps propel the hype. That’s why we love marketing so much!
