Small Business Spotlight: Zucker's Bagels & Smoked Fish in New York

I’m making a commitment to talk more about small business here on my blog so today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite breakfast places in New York: Zucker’s Bagels & Smoked Fish.

Zucker’s is a real New York neighborhood destination with seven locations across the boroughs, founded in 2006 although the logo and the decor feels like it’s been around forever. That’s a big part of the brand appeal … feeling very old New York. Authentic New York. Bagels and Smoked Fish from New York, that can only come from a New York neighborhood.

It’s important for small businesses to connect with the communities in which they serve and Zucker’s certainly does that in every possible way. In fact I think part of the experience is waiting in line and chatting with neighbors. It’s great fun!

And not to mention that Zucker’s provides a REAL New York bagel. Totally. Also a big part of the brand along with all the things that go along with a real New York bagel.

The way the brand and the branding and the products and the community all align is so inspiring for a small business … how can you do that for your small business?

What’s your experience? JIM
