Open Table Offers Grocery Store Reservations
If you need a reminder that life has permanently changed, then go to a grocery store. The experience is eery. Waiting in line so only a few people can go in at a time. Random empty shelves where highly-coveted items are heavily shopped. Face masks everywhere. People carefully navigating how to walk around each other. It’s eery. Unpleasant. Frightening. Something to be avoided at all costs.
Well it looks like Open Table, as in the online restaurant reservation system, is stepping in to help. In LA and San Francisco, at least for now, you can actually reserve a spot to go grocery shopping. Or get on a waitlist where you will receive a text when it’s your turn to get out of your car and come into the grocery store.
Pretty smart when you think about it. And something that I have a feeling will become a way of life. Masks and all.
Great example of a brand expanding its services to help make things just a little easier for consumers. Well done. Hope it expands to other markets, which I am betting it will.
