Brand Lay’s IMHO does an incredible job of staying relevant and fresh. One of my favorite campaigns ever is the brand’s “smile” packaging. So simple! Over 60 different bags with money donated to Operation Smile!

Brilliant.

Now amid a pandemic lockdown, the brand is bringing travel exploration to those who can’t travel with a social media campaign where you can win a bag of chips featuring the symbolic flavors of countries around the world. Like Greece, Mexico, Germany, and Thailand. Just on social media, which is where many of us are “traveling” these days any way!

But wait there’s more! Now at retail, we can sample iconic recipes too, right at a time when going to restaurants isn’t so easy either! Lay’s Flavor Icons: New York Style Pizza, Nashville Hot Chicken, Carnitas Street Taco, Philly Cheesesteak. So simple yet so imaginative. Let’s us escape for a moment with a bag of chips.

It’s not like a branded bag of chips can solve the world’s problems right now, but a little fun and escapism is never a bad thing and that’s one thing that Lay’s is greatly attempting to do with its suite of products. I’ll take a little relief where ever I can get it!
