2021 Brand of the Year ... Tiffany & Co.
Every year I pick a brand that I believe has been the most prolific and productive, elevating its craft and making the marketing world take notice.
Of course we are still in the midst of the pandemic, so the brand of the year really should be all of the vaccine brands but I wanted to keep this post true to the spirit of my blog which is to celebrate brand marketing in its finest. So along with a big salute and thank you to the vaccines, I would like to announce that my pick for brand of the year for its true marketing artistry and craft is ….
Tiffany & Co.
With a brand new flagship marquis store/HQ under construction in hometown New York City, Tiffany’s has been the busy brand of the year marking new territory and bringing in new audiences. Brilliant marketing IMHO all along the way.
The long list of activity coming from this brand includes:
The launch of engagement rings for men, opening up a whole new category that’s been long overdue
A new spokesperson with Blackpink Rose, appealing to an entirely new demographic
A new line of jewelry to protect endangered species, bringing new purpose to the brand
A “yellow” pop up store in LA, proving how the brand owns its blue color
A new campaign featuring Beyonce and Jay Z, highlighting the brand’s legacy with the iconic “Moon River”
A fall collaboration with Supreme, bringing Tiffany’s to streetwear
Thank you, Tiffany & Co. for bringing your marketing game to us all year long, inspiring us to improve our own work.
What’s your experience? JIM
PS … yesterday I wrote a post about the biggest marketing moments of 2021. I did not include anything from Tiffany & Co. as I was holding that for this post! Tomorrow I will review my favorite blog posts of the year. And then on Friday 12/31/21 (last day of the year), I will write a salute to true “winners” this year. Hope you will join me and give me your thoughts.
