Beyonce for Levi's #MusicMonday
Back when Beyonce released her album “Country Carter,” she included a song called “Levii’s Jeans” that she did with Post Malone. Check it out:
It of course gave a nod to the iconic denim brand and evidently the brand took notice. I mean, really, how could it not … this is Beyonce after all?!? Maybe in some ways it was planned all along because all these months later here we have Beyonce recreating an iconic Levi’s tv spot from 1985 called “Launderette” using that same exact song. Give a look:
Yes Levi’s and Beyonce recreated this spot from the original which aired in 1985 for “stone-washed jeans” and the character literally put stones in the washing machine with his jeans to wash them (something new at the time). Here Beyonce replaces those stones with crystals, but of course (sign of times!). So brilliantly done, as the next generation looks on with admiration.
Here’s the original spot from 1985:
Sadly that actor passed away, but this classic tv spot lives on with now a new version immortalized by Beyonce as well.
Just love how music fuses with art and film and fashion and modeling and so on and so on.
And retail sales too!
Levi’s is reporting a huge lift in traffic not only online but also foot traffic in their brick and mortar stores. Folks are visiting their retail locations! Now that could also be because of the adjacent out of home and instore advertising that comes along with the campaign. Can’t get enough of Queen Bey and her Levi’s!
